This is a hydrosol grown just south and west of Edmonton, Alberta so as local as you can get.  The distiller grows the plant wild on his property and harvests once or twice a year.  
 
Historically, this plant was recognized by the Indigeous peoples for centuries to burn the plant material for ceremony and events.  The plant can not produce an essential oil as some plant materials don't hold up to the distillation process.  So the manufacturers will create a hydrosol.  They steam distill the plant material and bottle off the scented water.  
 
Please note this spray will be effective for about 18 months if kept out of heat and sunlight.
